Here the short-long story of what happened in this fabulous adventure began by chance a few months ago and that is not over
A DREAM BECOMES A COLLECTIVE PROJECT
The Theatre for Transition Learning Village was the dream of a few visionaries who together imagined to be able to create, somewhere in Europe, a meeting between people practicing theatre and working for the transition to a society that could be better and sustainable for the planet.
And so inspiring to a very unconventional design technique, called Dragon Dreaming, after many emails, Skype calls on different time zones, more and more people have contributed to the planning of this event and imagined to create the basis for the Network of Theatre for Transition.
We didn’t know how many people would attend, but …
ANYONE COMES, IS THE RIGHT PERSON
In the end, I do not know if more “because” me or someone else (like Antonio), we ended up bringing everyone on the hills of Bologna, in Monzuno, at the Ecovillage Alluce Verde, where a group of families, leaving the city , started a project of resilience, recovering an abandoned farmhouse and its lands to make their home, but also an open place, where different experiences could take place (like our village). We immediately felt at home.
For one week (July 20 to 26) we were more than 50, from 12 countries – Spain, Greece, Israel, Germany, Poland, Austria, France, Holland, Belgium, Italy, United States, India – with different experiences in theatre, some as actors and/or directors, other as facilitators and trainers, simple activists, and students wishful to learn, but all interested in meeting and wondering how theatre can facilitate the transition to a new model of society, where we take care of the planet we live on, we build communities more resilient and cohesive, better relations between men and women.
